Itinerary

Trivandrum - Kovalam (approx.. 30 mins)

Arrive Trivandrum. Upon arrival pickup from the airport and drop to Kovalam. Upon arrival check in at the hotel. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Kovalam: This enchanting strip of golden sands is laced with the rich greenery of coconut palms. A former fishing village, Kovalam is just 16 kms away from Trivandrum.

Kovalam - Kumarakom (approx.. 4 Hours 30 mins, 195kms)

Breakfast at hotel. Later check out and drive to Kumarakom, on arrival check in to the hotel and in the evening go on a 2-hour motor boat cruise in Lake Vembanad. Overnight at the hotel.

Lake Vembanad  – It is a lovely place to go for a picnic and has also turned into a prominent backwater destination. There are many boating, fishing and sightseeing options available in the area. The Kumarakom Tourist Village has many house boating and holiday packages available. Onam brings new life to these waters with stunning Snake Boat Races. As oarsmen in large numbers dictate the rhythm of the water underneath, one is transported to a new dimension altogether.

Kumarakom - Thekkady(approx.. 3 Hours 40 mins, 122 kms)

Morning breakfast at hotel followed by drive to Thekkady. On arrival, check in at the hotel. Afternoon visit to Periyar wildlife. Overnight stay at hotel.

Periyar wildlife – The park is being adorned with a picturesque lake at the heart of the sanctuary which is an artificial 100 years old lake at Thekkady and is basically known for its wild elephants and thickly established Western Ghats forests. Many of the intense valleys of Periyar contain tropical evergreen forest with extremely thick tree cover with hardly any sun-rays to get penetrated. These trees are fully grown at the amazing heights of up to 130-140 feet. Some of the areas in the park contain marshy grasslands near the edges of the lake and other water bodies. Spread out across the park are also patches of semi-evergreen forest used as important cover by many of the animal species.

Drive from Thekkady - Munnar (approx. 4 hours, 110 kms)

Today, early morning breakfast proceeds to Munnar. Upon arrival, check-in at the hotel. You can spend the rest of the day at your leisure.

Sightseeing in Munnar

After breakfast, go on a sightseeing tour of Nyamakadu Waterfalls, Anaimudy View (South India’s highest peak) and Eravikulam National Park (Rajmala), where one can see rare species of fauna such as the Mountain Goat. Enjoy a comfortable overnight stay in Munnar.

Nyamakadu Waterfalls – This waterfall is ideal for both peace and adventure lovers since they can either enjoy the exqusite surroundings of the waterfall or soak in the beauty of the valleys while trekking. Tourists may even encounter some tea pickers at work and talk to them about the famous tea plantations in Munnar. The Nyayamakad Waterfall is located inside the 

Eravikulam National Park, nestled on the ever stunning Western Ghats, which is surrounded by endless lush green forests. 

Anamudy View -The Anamudi Peak, which stands tall in the Eravikulam National Park, is the pride of Kerala. It is the highest mountain peak in India outside the great Himalayan Mountain Ranges, loaded with rich flora and fauna. It is also a home to the largest surviving populations of Asian Elephants, endangered Gaurs, exotic Nilgiri Langurs, and lion tailed macaque. The Anamudi Peak is a paradise in the wild, which is covered with evergreen forests with some very beautiful rivers flowing inside the jungle. Tourists take a trek to the top of the mountain and enjoy the sight of beautiful rivers flowing into the east like Vaigai and Thamirabarani, and the Periyar River.

Eravikulam National Park – The Park is breathtakingly beautiful and is easily comparable to the best of mountain ranges in the Alps. With the highest peak south of the Himalayas – the Anamudi, located here, nature enthusiasts have ample opportunities for trekking expeditions and wildlife spotting.

Munnar- Madurai (approx.. 6 Hours , 158 kms)

Today, early morning breakfast proceed to Madurai. On your arrival, check-in at the hotel. In the afternoon, enjoy a sightseeing tour of this bustling pilgrimage city whose life revolves around the great Meenakshi Temple, which dominates the old city. This temple with its Gopurams (pyramidal gateway towers) is covered with a profusion of multi- coloured images of mystical figures, animals and gods. 

Also visit Tirumalai Nayak Palace and the Gandhi Museum. Thereafter, return to the hotel for your overnight stay.

Madurai - Pondicherry (approx.. 9 Hours , 325 kms)

After breakfast check out from the hotel and proceed to Pondicherry, which is a former French colony. The town still retains a French influence in its architecture, surroundings and planning. On arrival, check-in to your hotel and enjoy a comfortable overnight stay.

day 7

Pondicherry | Sightseeing tour

After breakfast, visit the Aurobindo Ashram founded by a Bengali philosopher, Aurobindo, in the early 20th century. In the afternoon, you will have the option to visit Auroville or relax on the beach. Enjoy a comfortable overnight stay at the hotel.

Chennai Departure

After breakfast check out form the hotel & proceed to airport/railway station for onward journey.
